First of all, congratulations on your engagement and thank you for your interest in booking me as your wedding photographer. I’m thrilled that you took this first step in planning your big day and reached out to me. I’m SO excited with you for this new phase of your life! A little bit about me, my name is Cara and I’m full-time wedding photographer based in Cape Town. I grew up in the beautiful countryside of the Swartland, and moved to Stellenbosch to pursue my love for photography after school. I studied at Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography, and walked away with my Bachelors degree in Visual Communication in the bag! Since pursuing wedding photography full-time from 2022 I just can’t get enough of it! Documenting special moments is what I absolutely adore, whether it's an elopement, intimate wedding, vow renewal or traditional big wedding, I want to capture love & celebration in a real and raw way. That’s why I’m so excited to have YOU here, because your story is the one I want to tell.
My approach
A true mix of documentary and editorial photography
I'm drawn to editorial photography, the kind of images that feel refined, intentional, and a little bit iconic. But on a wedding day, real moments matter just as much as beautiful portraits. That’s why my approach is a mix of both. When it’s time for portraits, I’ll guide you with gentle direction so we can create something stunning without it ever feeling stiff or overdone. And when the day is unfolding naturally, I step back and let it
happen - capturing the laughter, the nerves, the hugs, the in-between moments you didn’t even realize were happening. I want your photos to feel timeless and beautiful, but I never want your wedding to feel like a production. The most important thing is that you’re present, relaxed, and having the best day ever. I’m there to document it honestly, and create art along the way.
FAQ
How do we book you?
In order to secure your date in my calendar I’ll need your signed contract and a 50% non-refundable booking fee, then we’re all set for your big day!
What is your editing style?
My editing style remains true colour, yet infused with a hint of film inspiration. I aim for my photos to reflect the same vibe as your wedding day - true to life colours and a clean finish. I prefer minimal editing to maintain authenticity. Above all, my focus lies in producing timeless images that retain their allure even decades down the line, ensuring they stand the test of time for generations to cherish.
Where are you based and how does travelling costs and accommodation work?
I am based in Durbanville and I charge a standard rate of R5/km travelling costs to and from your wedding venue. Should a venue be more than 80km (1 hour ) drive away suitable accommodation should be provided for me and my second shooter.
When will we receive our photos?
The most exciting part! I get to work on your preview as soon as possible to make sure you have a couple of images to post on your socials within the first week after your wedding. Thereafter, your wedding goes into my editing queue and it can take up to 10 weeks to deliver your full album.
